Ford's "New Edge" styling makes the Ford Ikon fun, sporty yet classy. Its
dazzling colours in a clear coat finish make it a definite show stopper. Its 1.6 litre
Rocam petrol engine takes you from 0 -100 km in11.5 secs, making sure you are the
first off the traffic lights. Luxurious interiors with a special rear comfort package that
features an extra air-con vent exclusively for the back and little cookies like rear
reading lamps. So go ahead - cruise down the highway on the firm but supple
suspension. And when you get off, if you are left wondering how to describe the feeling ,
try the word "josh".
The Ikon blends Ford's radical 'New Edge' style cues with some appealing accents in a most
pleasing manner. The car is handsome which is both sporty and conservative. The interior
is very tastefully done with logical inputs. The suspension dynamics are quite brilliant
and the handling predictable and safe. The engine is particularly impressive which is
quiet, smooth and punchy. Style, reliability when coupled with price should see the Ikon
in good stead.
How do you make sure your Ford car always stays in top
shape?
Well, to make it simple, here are a few DO's:
Inflate the tyre to the recommended pressure only when the
tyre is cold. This increases idling and driving comforts, as well as the life of your
tyre.Check and top up all the lube oils, coolant and brake fluid level under the bonnet.
For your convenience, all these filling points are marked in yellow, and the reservoirs
are translucent. Switch off all the electrical loads, including the AC system while
cranking. This increases battery and engine life. Always depress the clutch pedal fully
before starting the
engine. This increases the life of the battery, starter motor and clutch assembly.Wait at
least 5 seconds before increasing the engine speed after start. This not only improves
lubrication, but also increases engine life.
There are also a few DON'Ts:
Do not.. touch the accelerator pedal while cranking the petrol engine. This sends a wrong
signal to the computer in the Electronic Engine Management system. Do not.. operate the
wiper with windscreen dry. This scratches the glass and also damages the wiper blade.
MOST IMPORTANT:
Always use seat belts, Dispose used engine oil, brake
fluid, engine coolant, battery and tyres only at authorized facilities. By doing this, you
will only help save the environment. Test the brake functioning system before starting a
long journey. |
